A national specialty clinic operator supporting approximately 10,000 employees ran an HR function structured around specialized Centers of Excellence. The CHRO was executing a multi-year journey to reposition HR from an enabling function to a strategic enterprise capability. The blocker: leadership had no analytical instrument to decompose CoE work, identify what could be automated or migrated, cost the activities credibly, and design the future-state shared services function the strategy required, including location strategy options.

Task

Tim led the strategic scoping, advisory, and sales engagement to source the Orgvue platform and the design approach that would underpin the broader 18-month HR Transformation roadmap.

Action

Tim delivered a validated business case and a sourced analytical platform in one engagement cycle, against the typical 18- to 24-month internal scoping timelines for capability builds of this complexity, by structuring an advisory engagement that combined visioning, business case validation, organizational decomposition, and technology fit assessment. The work applied Orgvue’s Organization-as-a-System conceptual data model and Data-Driven Organization Design approach, paired with APQC Process Classification Framework data to anchor activity-level decomposition. The framework lets HR leadership identify activities ready for automation, design a lower-cost shared services operating model, and evaluate offshore delivery options in lower-labor-cost markets including India as part of the location strategy decision.

Result

An approved business case, a sourced platform, and a 12- to 18-month HR Transformation roadmap with the analytical ecosystem to execute it. The client owns the capability to redesign work, cost the future state, and execute the migration through Orgvue Professional Services support.
